LOOKING FOR NEW LEGAL STAFF?
At Index Legal, we focus on what we know best: recruitment of all legal staff from lawyers through to support staff, as well as legal secretarial training. We recruit for law firms of all shapes and sizes, as well as in-house and government departments.
THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS
1. Briefing us on your new role
To make the whole procedure as smooth as possible, we will ask you questions about your organisation and its day-to-day workings. We will also ask for information regarding the role itself and the level and skills of the person required. We place great emphasis on the candidate fit and so we will ask questions regarding the personality, personal attributes and other qualities required.
We will also ask you for a salary range and details of benefits and incentives. The more information that you can give us, the easier it is for us to find the perfect match.
2. Dealing with applications
Once we have obtained an applicant's application and resume, we arrange to meet with them. The purpose of this meeting is to get to know the candidate and discover what they are seeking in a role and the things that are important to them. We build trust and rapport with the applicant and engage in frank, open discussions. Our aim is to help them make the right long-term career decisions. Sometimes this means advising them that the role they have applied for may not be suited to them, and at other times we may even advise them to remain in their current role.
Our consultants are trained in interviewing techniques and by asking both open-ended and behavioural-type questions, we are able to gain a greater understanding and insight into the person's employment matters. We probe further into any areas of concern and undertake further investigations and checks directly after the interview where appropriate.
We place a high importance on the candidates personality, professional presentation and communication skills, and these lead us to consider the type of culture that they would best fit into.
Once we have discussed the candidate's application, we obtain their consent to forward their resume, together with their test results and a summary.
We treat all applications with the upmost confidentiality and always obtain the express consent of candidates for specific roles or firms before we send out their CV, abiding by the Privacy Act at all times.
3. The interview process
Once you decide to interview a candidate, we arrange a time and location for them to meet with you. We give the candidate all relevant information regarding the organisation and the position itself. If you have a two-round interview process (or more), then we advise the candidate of the procedures and who they will be meeting with at each step.
4. Making the decisions
Once the interviews have been completed, we obtain from the candidate details of two verbal references from previous employers and we then notify you of whom we intend to contact. We then take up the references and provide you with the outcomes in written form.
We also discuss salary and benefits matters, and assist with any negotiations between you and the candidate.
5. Our rates
Our rates are flexible and competitive and can be tailored to suit your particular needs. Please contact us on 9663 5091 or email contactus@indexlegal.com.au for further information |
